Too many MMOGs, Too little time

leave a response

There are 3 MMOGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) set to be released this quarter: namely Perfect World from Level Up!, Granado Espada by IPVG and Lineage 2 by AMDG. I have spent quite some time with all games and here are my impressions:

I would’ve played Lineage 2 PH if only someone bothered to give me an install cd/dvd. I did play at the US servers for a couple of months and i hated the grind and the overall travel time. Great content due to numerous patches over the years though (its more than 2 years old, people…). Props to the Dark Elf Model.

Granado Espada is a great looking game but i basically went from 1-20 without being attached to my characters. Blame the “bot” feature for this. I love the artistic style and period though. Great improvements over the CBT although i still feel it a bit lacking in the charm department.

Perfect World still has some bugs it needs to fix and some clarifications to implement but i wasted enough with time its face creator. Seriously, With 10 characters per server, this can take a while. I wish it were available on DVD though…

How about you? What local MMO are you playing?

I’ve played all three games, although I’m spending more time playing Perfect World than the other two. I do, however, keep an active account in the two other games.

I hate Lineage II. The graphics may be spectacular, but the gameplay, IMHO, sucks. But who knows, in a few months, probably the game will pick up. I still won’t be playing it regularly, though.

As for Granado Espada, you’re correct in saying that attachment of players to the characters seem a bit off. Some players, though, like PJ Punla of NineMoons fame, has formed a deep emotional bond with her characters. I am, on the other hand, an on-off player, meaning if I fancy playing the game today, I might not want to tomorrow.
