When is it coming out? When is its release date? Who cares! The only thing i know is that its gonna be sucking in cash for Vivendi. It may be an even bigger hit than Burning Crusade. Why? The former Prince Arthas aka the Lich King is now available to fight not to mention the addition of WoW’s first Hero Class, the Death Knight. DOTA and Warcraft 3 fans surely know the story of Arthas and how he succumbed to the corruption of Ner’Zhul. Oh, did i mention Blizzard is increasing the level cap to 80? Grinding once again. Yuga posted that the prices of quad cores have gone down by half. The question im asking myself now is that: is it worth going to quad core right here and now? Don’t get me wrong, slashing prices almost always is in the best interest of the consumers but if you’re someone who has been thinking of buying a new rig, is it worth jumping on the quad core bandwagon ? Anybody else see those awesome Assassin’s Creed gameplay videos at E3? No, not the ones with hottie dev Jade Reynolds, but the ones where protagonist Altair moves throughout 12th century Jerusalem. First Altair dives off a building onto a haystack, then casually walks with citizens. He deftly avoids a barricade by throwing a soldier off a roof to set off a distraction and uses an overarching beam to hang on and flip himself to the other side of the barricade. People also notice you while you walk and move, like when you start to climb a building. You can hear them saying “What is he doing?” or “he’s trying to get himself killed”. A new kind of AI or just longer code? Read the rest of this entry »
I may be immersed in digital media in my personal and professional life, but that doesn’t mean i don’t enjoy a good physical book, or a good magazine for that matter. Sometimes there’s no better feeling than holding that glossy page with your own hands and enjoying printed material.
But i cant afford spending 400 bucks on a imported gaming magazine (especially on multiple titles), thats why i always frequent my local used books/magazines retailer to get my dose of printed gaming mags. I usually get old issues for a fraction of what it would cost if i bought a brand new one. Granted, most of these mags are 2 months old or older (1 month if you’re lucky) but imho its well worth it especially with the freebies like demo discs still intact.
Looking to upgrade to Direct X 10 and Windows Vista? I think it would be best if we hold off for a couple of months. Why? Aside from the fact that I’ve got no money to splurge on an upgrade, there are simply not that many games that take advantage of DX10. Sure we got Crysis and Hellgate London coming soon but we’re talking months here. Those 8600GTS’es and 8800GTX’es will surely drop in price in the coming months (not to mention the arrival of faster chips as well). Prices of other components such as processors and RAM will also follow suit.
There is no rush to upgrade to DX10. Once mainstream games become Vista only exclusives then maybe, but not right now…
There are 3 MMOGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) set to be released this quarter: namely Perfect World from Level Up!, Granado Espada by IPVG and Lineage 2 by AMDG. I have spent quite some time with all games and here are my impressions:
I would’ve played Lineage 2 PH if only someone bothered to give me an install cd/dvd. I did play at the US servers for a couple of months and i hated the grind and the overall travel time. Great content due to numerous patches over the years though (its more than 2 years old, people…). Props to the Dark Elf Model.
Granado Espada is a great looking game but i basically went from 1-20 without being attached to my characters. Blame the “bot” feature for this. I love the artistic style and period though. Great improvements over the CBT although i still feel it a bit lacking in the charm department.
Perfect World still has some bugs it needs to fix and some clarifications to implement but i wasted enough with time its face creator. Seriously, With 10 characters per server, this can take a while. I wish it were available on DVD though…
How about you? What local MMO are you playing?

Ok, I admit it. I’m a big Nintendo fan. I grew up playing their games and loved to hate Sega’s Genesis. I also beat most of the games i played including games which most consider difficult such as: Crocodile Dundee, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Metal Gear, Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Contra (with no deaths), all the NES Castlevania’s, Zelda’s and Marios. Heck, i even mastered how to land properly (not to mention refuel) in Top Gun. Nintendo was the system to own 20-15 years ago. It had the best catalog of games and that was the bottomline.
Things started to change when Nintendo was getting pWn3d by Sony about a decade ago. Nintendo’s famed arrogance was gone, their reputation starting to show cracks. Sony started to get a larger number and better games on their system, while Nintendo suddenly had to carry on by itself with most 3rd parties moving to the eventual Sony juggernaut called the Playstation. Some may say Nintendo may have had some of their best games during this time when competition fueled their desire to return to the top. Games such as Majora’s Mask, Ocarina of Time. And they may be right, but it wasn’t enough to make money nor enough to propel them back to dominance.
Fast forward to E3 2007. Read the rest of this entry »
Waittaminnit… That’s the Regginator’s line. It ain’t even E3! (yeah, E3 2007 blows.) Anyway, My name is Kiven and i’m taking over Space Invaded. Why? because i can land/refuel perfectly in Top Gun, beat Contra without dying, and whoop your ass in NBA 2k7. or 2k8. or 2k9. and oh yeah, i probably done this blogging thing once or twice before…..
So sit back, relax and lets talk about gaming from a 3rd Worlder’s (is there even such a word? sounds RPG-ish. =) ) perspective. Sprinkle it with a couple of rants, a dash of pirated goods (boss, dibidi…) and we’re all set.
Welcome to Space Invaded!
Now we’ve reviewed Star Wolves 2, it’s time to provide tips on how to beat the game! Since achieving most of the game’s goals involves winning space battles, this is what this short guide will focus on.
Granted, Star Wolves 2 isn’t that hard. The ever-present quicksave and quickload functions mean you can easily recover from disaster and try something different. And your run-of-the-mill enemies, such as random pirates and enemy faction members, become easy pickings once you’ve upgraded your fleet past a certain level. The same is true even for supposed toughies like the Aliens, Angorians, and the Bezerks. But in the beginning, when your offensive and defensive capabilites aren’t that developed, surviving is literally a struggle.
Luckily, we have just the info you need to make life as a space-faring mercenary a little easier. Read the rest of this entry »
