Bioshock - Welcome to Rapture

It looks like Bioshock is another classic in the making for developer Irrational games, as major media outlets scoring it in the high 90’s in terms of review percentage scores. It is also a swan song for Irrational in a way since they will be assimilated by 2K Games as the more corporately named 2k Boston and 2k Australia.

IGN says: “BioShock stands as a monolithic example of the convergence of entertaining gameplay and an irresistibly sinister, engrossing storyline that encompasses a host of multifaceted characters. This is an essential gaming experience.” While Gamespy says “Put simply, BioShock is an unparalleled achievement. No other game comes even remotely close to it in terms of raw emotional connection. It may still be too early to name a Game of the Year, but after experiencing BioShock in all of its haunting artistic glory, every other game will have to try that much harder to even be considered as a candidate.”

That looks like Game of the Year material right there, folks. So where do i buy Bioshock for the PC or Xbox360 in this third world wasteland? Probably from forum sellers or maybe even from Play-Asia/Datablitz if an Asian is available. Oh please 2k, let there be an Asian version of this game.

Damn! Does the Irrational Games purchase mean that we won’t be seeing Freedom Force 2? :(

There will be an Asian version- the bad news is that it’s set so far for a Sept. 14 release. On the other hand, the US version, which is supposedly Region-free, is being released by Play-Asia this Friday, August 24. I already preordered my copy, so hopefully it IS playable on Asian Xboxes, and that I get to play it over the long weekend…
